Why do chimps sleep in nests?

 Every night, wild chimpanzees build themselves nests high in the trees and tuck themselves in for a good night's sleep. But no one knows exactly what makes these nests good sleeping spots for chimps. So biological anthropologist Fiona Stewart decided to find out — by bedding down in the chimp nests herself.

Those who travel to China know that fakes—fake iPhones, fake watches, fake Louis Vuitton bags—are everywhere. But while it's easy for the average American to find counterfeit products, most of the Western world has been blissfully unaware of entire counterfeit stores—until recently, that is. Chinese authorities recently ordered the shutdown of two fake Apple Stores in Kunming, and now a whopping 22 more have been identified. And there's probably plenty more where that came from

Last year was declared the "Year of the Tiger," and though the global population still hovers below 3,500 individuals in the wild—making it one of the most critically endangered animals on the planet—some advances were made to protecting the much-loved species. At the end of the year, 13 nations with natural tiger habitat pledged to work together to double populations by 2022.

Furries Descend on Pittsburgh for Fur Suit Festival

Thousands furries descend on Pittsburgh this weekend, for the sixth annual Anthrocon, America's foremost convention for "anthropomorphics," commonly known as "furries." Participants are already wandering the streets of Steel City, wearing costumes and carrying puppets, posing for pictures with locals, going to raves, and singing "furraoke" while boozing at local bars.

Bus drivers have nicknamed a white cat Macavity after it has started using the No 331 several mornings a week.
The feline, which has a purple collar, gets onto the busy Walsall to Wolverhampton bus at the same stop most mornings - he then jumps off at the next stop 400m down the road, near a fish and chip shop
